:: Provo Beach Resort ::
 Provo is moving up in the world.
They now have a WAY cool outing for the whole family.
Provo Beach Resort, located in the Riverwoods.
There is play places for young and old kids, a rope course, bowling, miniature croquet, a Flowrider {surfing inside}, arcade games, a cafe/deli, ice cream shop, clothes shop, a pinewood derby contest, a carousel, a simulator Golf game, and a stage with live performances.
I was quite impressed to be honest.
They have a debit card system so you get there and get a card for free that you keep forever, and you can just keep putting as much or little money on it each time. Brilliant.
That card gets you into any arcade game or activity in the place.
We just went for a short period of time to check it out,
but Cohen enjoyed himself.

$1 carousel ride.
Was it worth it?
I think so.

:: Cohen at 20 months ::
 20 month Stats
weight - 24.6 lbs. {29 %tile}
height - 33.2 inch. {61 %tile}
head - 19.5 inch. {87 %tile}
 We have been working on COLORS with Cohen lately.
They are coming along. Slowly, but surely.
He LOVES yellow - "yewwow".
When he doesn't want to try to say a color, he'll usually guess yellow.
 Last night for FHE, we played a color game.
He did farely well!
We would lay 3 bowls in front of him - red, yellow and blue.
Then ask him to pick the RED one...
I would say he got it right about 40% of the time.
Not bad.
One thing I love about him, is he's always willing to TRY.

By the end, all that we could get out of him was peek-a-boo.
Cohen says "Wed, yewwow and boo" very well.
What's new with Cohen:
  • he laughs at himself and says "dats funny!"
  • he is memorizing the characters in the movie Cars
  • when talking on a real or fake phone he now says "Hewwow?" instead of HI.      {his L's are W's}
  • HE LOVES KEYS! He will stick them in any hole he can see. The other day we were getting ready to leave to go see his friend Troy Allsop and he went to the door to try and open it, saying "Troy's! Oh shoot. Keys!" I would interpret that as he was saying "Let's go to Troy's. Oh shoot, I can't open the door without the keys." Silly boy.
  • His imagination is running WILD! I love watching him in his own little world when it's just him and I. He is starting to talk to his toys, or talk for them. He's still a chatterbox.
  • He is trying more foods, even when they look gross to him.
  • Drinking water alot more. YAY!
  • Still sleeps 12 hours a night. Naps once for 2 hours.
  • LOVES outside anything, now that the snow is melted, for now at least.
  • He is starting saying "LOVE YOU" back when someone says it to him.
A few of his FAVORITES:
favorite color: yellow, I would guess
favorite food/meal: waffles
favorite snack: fruit snack or popcorn
favorite movie: Cars
favorite cartoon: Super Why
{sounds like "Soup I" when he yells to me that it's on}
favorite thing to play: blocks/towers or his car track or tractor he can ride

:: VALENTINE'S 2011 ::
 We celebrated a few days early on Saturday
so Brock could be home all day with us.
My sweetheart woke up early to make Co and I PINK HEART PANCAKES.
As you can see, he got creative and decorated so very nicely.
What a good man.

 Here's Cohen's surprise...
New shoes, fruit snacks and yogurt.
What more could he want?!
Not much other than a stick maybe.

 And then we had a dance party. He's getting
pretty coordinated when it comes to dancing.

In the afternoon, we went to the BYU vs. Utah basketball game with Jade and Tiff. Brock and I have all-sports passes {an ID to get into any BYU sporting event} but this game was SO packed they were turning away all sports passes. As we were walking away a very sweet man saw us and came up and said he had an extra ticket that a family member wasn't using and gave it to us free. There are good people in this world! Then Brock went and talked a guy down to $10 dollars for another one. We BARELY made it in the game.
It was a packed house, of course. Jimmermania! Some fans are absolutely rediculous, in my opinion. Camping outside the Marriot center in a tent, FREEZING, just to get a good spot in line? Little overboard for me! But Jimmer is a very good player.

 Co had a blast! We always hesitate bringing him to sporting events, but he LOVED it and we were so glad he came. To keep busy he cheered, ate PLENTY of snacks and climbed up and down the stairs and bleachers by us.
 The preshow to the game was AWESOME! Well worth $10.
Although, Cohen was not too sure about it. It was pretty intense.

 The game was great.
BYU won 72 - 59.

On Valentine's Day morning, Cohen and I made
yummy sugar cookies and Valentine cards to take to his friends.
He was a good helper, but got bored quickly.
Thankfully, the magic cookies cutters saved the day.
I let me dump them ALL OVER the kitchen and he LOVED them.
Of course.
NOISE + A MESS = HAPPY COHEN

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!
Love is in the air.

DRUMROLL PLEASE.....

With much analyzing, debating, evaluating, inspecting, scrutinizing, investigating and loosing sleep over....
We have FINALLY decided on a medical school for our growing family to move to.

And the choice is.......
................................
.......................................
 We will be moving to FORT WORTH, TEXAS.
Brock will be attending TCOM,
Texas college of Ostepathic Medicine.
We feel SO good about our choice, and think Texas will treat our growning family well. We are anxious, excited and nervous for our BIG move. A lot of change is coming in these next few of months - BABY #2, moving to a new state & starting medical school.
BRING IT ON!
We're stoked.

 Catch ya'll later!

:: toddler time @ the library ::
We love toddler time @ the library!
This time Abigail & Laura and Troy & Char met us there.
Fun outting for the Mommy's to be social and the kids are entertained by someone else for 30 mins. It's great. This is put on by two individuals who are FULL of energy, patience, animation and knowledge of how to hold a toddler's attention for a half hour.
BRILLIANT IDEA.
 Cohen is starting to get into it now that he's a little older.
He tries to jump and dance and do actions to the songs and participate,
but only so much comes out of him.
There are computers that the kids can pound and press keys on. Also, they usually hand out a coloring page to take home and color.

My little computer nerd.
Boy, did he think he was cool.
:: late night and popcorn ::
{wasn't quick enough to catch Co's big smile/amazed face}

Brock took a test last Friday night and we decided to keep Cohen up til he got done so he could have a fun "late night" out of the ordinary, and wait up for Dad to say Goodnight. He thought he was pretty big. We watched the movie Cars while Dad was gone, and later popped popcorn in our air popper for Cohen's first time and he was AMAZED. The look on his face was priceless. He loved eating it just as much.
I think it may be his new favorite snack.

a few new things about Cohen this past week...
  • We were driving down Univ. Parkway Hill one night when it was dark outside {far from the Provo Temple} and Co spotted the Temple in the distance and said, "Temple! I see it!" Wow. That made our whole day.
  • I asked him where he put his drink and he replied, "I no no!" {I don't know, with his hands out, palms turned up} Then said "I find it." And he went and found it.
  • He can count to 10 when repeating us. Progress!
  • He is playing and SHARING better than ever with friends. {YAY!}
