a visit from NANA K
{Cont.}

On Pioneer Day, we had a bike parade and pine wood derby race with our ward at our church. It was so much fun! Cohen was thrilled to ride his decorated bike in the parade, but when it came time, he barely made it one lap then he rode up to me and said "Mom I'm done." Not sure if he just really wanted a Popsicle that all the finishers got, or was just tired. Maybe both?

 Doughnuts and juice before the derby race...
 Brock put sweat & blood into this sweet car. Co picked the colors and number, and it's name is Money. Brock put coins under the car to weigh it down, so the name fit perfectly.
2nd place! Not bad at all.
This was the good start to our derby experience in our family.
 Sweet Ty and Co chit-chatting watching more races.
 Before taking Nana to the airport, we went to the mall to shop, play & eat. The boys LOVE throwing coins in the fountain.
 We LOVE our Nana K!
Thank you for the wonderful visit.

Brendon's 1st Birthday Party Day
 Brendon was quite exited to open gifts. I think he has caught on from his brother especially.
He was spoiled with some really fun gifts.

 Cake made my Daddy, with a little help from Nana K.

 The friends LOVED the boys new rocket balloon shooter toy from Nana & Papa, everyone except Co. Ha! He was a little scared of the loud squeaking noise.
 Not quite sure what's going on....
 Did not want ANY cake or frosting in his mouth.
 Just wanted to play in it!

 BIG smile thanks to Vicki making him laugh!
 Happy Birthday to my 1 YEAR OLD!

This picture above is my absolute favorite from the whole week.
I can still hear both of them giggle while popping the bubbles.
Fort Worth Stockyards
Candy Barrel
The candy shop at the stockyards, Nana did a little spoiling. :)

Ice cream, everyone shared.
Petting zoo @ Stockyards
Cohen didn't dare touch the animals and did not want them to touch him. So Nana K had to get both her hands slobbered on. I'm pretty sure the Llama chomped on her hair a little too.

We went to the jump house, so Co could show Nana how crazy he can be there. They both were drawn to the rock climbing wall this time.

a visit from NANA K
We were lucky enough to have Nana K {Brock's mom} comes visit us for 4 days.
We played hard and long to get a lot of fun things in while she was in town.
First stop, {after we let her get a couple hours of sleep after her red eye flight - what a tropper} we went to storytime at the library to show her how much Cohen likes it. We all had naptime, ran throw the sprinklers and made a homemade authentic mexican meal, sopas.
 This darling BYU backpack from Papa that Nana brought. The boys love them, and Brendon walks around extra tall in his feelings so big.
  NRH2o
SOOO much fun! We can't get enough of this place.

Nana bought these Spiderman glasses for Co, he loves them!
Speaking of SPIDERMAN...
We met him at the water park! We were so lucky, and didn't even know he was going to be there. Made the day extra fun for Co.

That night we went out to dinner at On the Border. After a long day in the sun it was SO nice not to make or clean up dinner.
Before tubby time, we played some good games of hide and seek. :)
 More with Nana K to come....

Brendon's 1st Birthday
{July 15th}
 Oh, this baby has a HUGE part of my heart.
He makes me smile and gives me strength to make it through all my days. One of my favorite times of each day is when I hear him start to jabber after he wakes, then going into his room and am greeted with a huge gasp and smile, then a squeal.
Brendon is happy and READY to start each new day.
He is learning to be "bigger" just like Cohen wants him to be.
He continues to eat more than his older brother.
- 22 lbs
- size 3 diapers
- 12 to 24 month clothes {mostly 18 months}
- loves to get his hair done {that's my boy!}
- HATES haircuts, unlike his brother.
- follows Cohen and Daddy around like a shadow and keeps up well.
- sleeps 8 pm to 8 am, then a 2-3 hour nap mid day.
- says "yeah", "mama", "dada", "nana"
- loves to get the oven mitts out of the drawer and put them on and walk to the oven and touch the outside of the door.
- more than once a day I will find him by himself turning the pages of any book he can get to.
- more snuggly than Cohen, and Co was very snuggly.
- is a "Daddy's" boy more than a "Mama's" boy. {YAY!}
- loves to dance and hum along to music.
 {Getting my morning snuggle from the best!}

His actual birthday was on a Sunday. We didn't do much because we waited a few days until Nana K {Brock's mom} came to visit. We had a party and he opened gifts then.
Before church we had "birthday pancakes" and celebrated.
Brendon LOVES pancakes.

Happy Boy?
I think so.

Happy Birthday Baby Brend!
