Tubby Time!

Cohen LOVES the tubby. He could sit in there so relaxed for hours! He's so cute and looks so chubby in the tubby. Last night Brock was being the cutest dad ever and telling Cohen stories in the tubby. He loved it. I tried real hard to get a smile pic in the tubby but failed. Darn. I love my boys!

BABY WISE & PROCRASTINATION.

=
So I just finished reading Baby Wise by Gary Ezzo, M.A. & Robert Bucknam, M.D. and I've been trying to applying it to mine and Cohen's schedule. The past two days I've tried a few things diligently to see if he would sleep better at night and during the day, and WOW it has worked. He has learned how to calm himself down and go to sleep, and he takes 3 naps a day. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! It was on my list of things to do BEFORE Cohen was born, but I put it off til a month before his due date, which was when he was born. Oops! Little late. Yet, another lesson to me about learning not to procrastinate.

Simmons-Larson Family Reunion 2009

LOVE family reunions, but they don't happen often with my far out extended family. It was fun to go and get to know a few more relatives, and have some relaxing time. It was a beautiful day to play outside, and there was even a snow cone machine! Cohen got plenty of SNUGGLES of course. What a lucky little boy.

Here's my close fam. LOVE them.

Bad times.....and Smile times!

Ok, so all you moms out there know there are good times and bad times of motherhood, right? Well the last couple weeks have been quite the bad times. No, I do not have a devil child that is naughty just to be naughty. My poor little guy has had some reflux problems with him tummy. Sad. Dr. Anderson gave him some medicine three days ago, and I THINK it may be working. (don't want to jinx it) Cohen is sleeping during the day again, AND sleeping at night without me holding him for hours. Wow, what a blessing. Well, even through these past couple weeks of HARD TIMES there have been plenty of SMILE TIMES. Smiles times are what get me through the hard times! Definately. Cohen is smiling SO much lately and just wants to blurt out big sentences but only tiny little COO's come out. Oh I love him....even through the hard times. Here are a couple fuzzy pics off my phone camera, a photo shoot with Mr. Monkey, and a cute little video:

Oh yes.....love him and the smiles

Mr. Monkey & Co

This is his new favorite friend

Co's serious face

Of course he stopped smiling as
soon as I got my real camera out

OH....love him. I can only catch the end of the
smile so far. I'll get it one of these days..

Right before I turned my camera on he was talking to Mr. Monkey like crazy. I guess that's how it goes!!

2 months already!

At Cohen's 2 month Dr. appt. here's the results we got:

* 10 lb 7 oz - 17.1 %tile
* 21 inches long - 1.2 %tile (he's a little shorty)
* 15.3 head cir. - 22.9 %tile

Dr. Anderson said he's looking great, right on target. He does have some reflux problems, so he grunts and gags at night, which wakes him up. He should grow out of pretty quick. If not, there is some good medicine he can take. So we'll wait it out and see what happens.
Little Cohen is getting big! Well, to me at least. These pictures make him look bigger than he is. Everyone else sees him and says "he's tiny!". He's getting a little chub and his personality is starting to come out more and more everyday.

*He is starting to smile like crazy and
make the cutest little noises ever.
*He focuses very well now;
He'll look you straight in the eyes.
*He's getting very strong! He holds
his head up with no problem now.
*On a good night, he only wakes
up twice to eat. (LOVE those nights)
*He still LOVES taking a 'tubby'. He
would stay in there all day if we'd let him.
*He hates being cold, and doesn't seem
to be able to get too hot ever.
*He recognizes Brock and I's voices
and faces. Such a fun thing!
*No matter how upset he is, walking
outside ALWAYS calms him down.
*He loves going on walks with his mama.
*He loves riding in the car, but
hates getting in his car seat.
*His eyes are still pretty blue,
but seen to be getting darker.
*He is the biggest snuggle-bug
EVER....which I can't get enough of.
*He loves when we sing him to sleep.
*He is starting to grab toys in front of him.
*He's still the gasiest baby I know! But, it
doesn't seem to bother him anymore. YAY!
*I hate to say it, but he is a pooper!
I call him Pooter- cause he toots and poops lots.

We love him so much, and can't imagine life without him. Weird how quickly your life and family changes. The adjustment has been pretty easy thanks to a darling baby boy. Brock sometimes says "this baby thing would be a lot harder if we had an ugly one!" Ha, probably true. We are so happy with life right now and wouldn't change a thing about it. (even the hard times)
Oh Pooter....WE LOVE YOU TO THE MOON & STARS & BACK! --love, mom & dad

love the naked baby

and he loves it too!

he swings his arms and kicks his legs like crazy

he dazes quite a lot - which makes me laugh

I had to post this crazy eye pic....so funny!

oh precious!

Cohen's 1st trip to ST GEORGE

OH I MISS ST. GEORGE! This last weekend we had a blast taking Cohen down for the first time. We went to a Snow Canyon high school football game to see our families and were able to see many good friends. We had a blast showing off our sweet little boy. He did SO good all weekend, even riding in the car for a totally of 7 hours. Didn't make a peep. Thanks buddy! St. George is always refreshing and makes me realize that I am 100% a st. george girl.

i love to see the temple....

Last night was the first time Brock and I have been to the temple together since Cohen was born. It was SO much fun! I forgot so quickly how peaceful and refreshing it is to be in the temple. We are so blessed to have the Provo temple only steps away from our house, and also to have Cohen's Aunt Tiffy so close and willing to babysit while Brock and I go. Thanks Tiffy!

GIRLS NIGHT OUT!

I LOVE girls night out! Don't get me wrong, I love my two boys, but every now and then a girls night out is very needed. I'm sure all you women out there (especially mama's) will agree with me. My sweet mom came up for the weekend and surprised me by bringing my best friend Loni with her! That was the best surprise EVER. Loni and I were inseparable until I left her to move to Provo, and I miss her like CRAZY. We all had a great weekend, but it went by way too fast--like always.

Girls night--Mac Grill
Loni, me, Char, mom, Em

My Loni & Me

Grandma couldn't get enough of little Cohen.
He misses her already.

Sat night Brock, myself, Cohen and my mom went
to dinner at Brick Oven then went to the BYU
women's soccer game, which was sweet!

It was a little chilly...

So we had to bundle up and snuggle.
**Thanks mom and Loni for the perfect weekend!
