:: a day @ the park on Laura's birthday ::

Today was my really good friend Laura's birthday. We picked up Cafe Rio (her choice even though you're thinking it was mine) then we went to the park to catch some rays of sun and enjoy a little piece of heaven, our pork salads. The babes had a BLAST. They were loving the slides, at least sitting on them next to each other. They weren't took sure about going down.

I love miss Abigail's pigtails. She's adorable, and smiles when she sees Cohen.

He felt so big that he thought he could crawl off by himself.

a day in the life of melissa the mommy...

So here it is. . . .this is how most my days go:first Cohen is messy. . . .
then he's grabbing anything in my hands. . . .
he needs a diaper change, so I give
him something to distract him. . . .
which lasts long enough for me to whip
a diaper on his cute little bum. . . .
then he wants to roll and see how many different
moves he can make before & whlie we get his clothes on. . . .
then FINALLY he is clean, dressed,
and ready to make his next mess.

:: co's 1st boo boo ::

Sad! While playing with toys on the floor, Cohen took a nose dive (which happens daily) trying to reach for a toy, but this time his new top tooth cut his little lip. He was a tough boy. I picked him up, gave him a little snuggle, wiped off the blood, and he was good to go. FEW! It wasn't bad at all. He made it through his 1st boo boo that actually shed some blood. His lip puffed up a little, but it didn't seem to bug him at all.

:: a night OUT with grandparents ::

My sweet grandparents made an hour trip just to take us to dinner! We had a blast with them and my brother and his family were in town as well. It was so nice to visit and enjoy the delicious food from Olive Garden.
Thanks again Grandpa and Ann. We LOVE you!

this morning i opened my blinds to see this. . . .i could easily be SO sad about it (which normally I would be), but that picture is kinda pretty, don't you think? i decided that it was my choice - to choose to be sad or happy.

:: our day @ the library ::

Cohen and I went to the library yesterday, which we do quite a bit because I hate to say it, but I am a book worm, sort of a nerd. But yesterday we did a little exploring! We rode the elevator a few times, walked around the children section, checked out the art museum, and turned a corner and saw a very scary cross-dresser (not to judge, but he was scary). So we darted back to the elevator.
It was an over-all fun day at the library.

Oh how I LOVE this little laugh.

DUCKS.

Over the holiday weekend we took Cohen to see the DUCKS by BYU. He seemed to like them! They don't make too much noise because everyone is feeding them bread, including us. I think if they did make more noise Cohen would've enjoyed them more. But it was fun!

We tricked the ducks with bread to come up on shore.

This sad duck had a blow dart through his neck! Awful. I wanted to save him but he wouldn't come close enough for me to grab. Dang. Poor guy......and another in his foot, so when he paddled it would move and hurt so bad I'm sure. :( Stupid people who don't have anything better to do. Shame on you.

Cohen's 8 month update

My little buddy is 8 months old this week.

His personality is so dang cute, I can't get enough of him.
I see more and more of his daddy in him each day, which I love.
He is such a little smarty pants, he amazes me daily.
Buddy, thanks for loving me everyday no matter what.

Cohen LOVES this little red pillow. It's just his size, & he could play with it for at least an hour. This is our last resort when he's sick of our daily routine of playing with toys and books, & it's stormy outside & we can't go for a walk. We lay on mommy's bed & play with the red pillow instead!
