4th of July
and tending the Gillett's

Our friends the Gillett's went house hunting over the week of the 4th, and the kiddos stayed with us to party!
Both of our families celebrated the 4th a day early in Southlake, so we took it pretty easy on the 4th.
We started out at the park, played until we were beat red!
We each threw a million rocks in the river.
Will was sleeping at home while Brock studied.
Got slushies at Sonic! Too hot not to.
Came home and rested for 2 seconds, then was outside in the heat to play some more! I love kids, they like to have fun wherever no matter how hot or cold it is.

We had to do something fun on the holiday, so we watched a show and had popcorn. :)
We were lucky and got to swim at the Gillett's pool twice.
I had 5 very cute little fishies in my hands.
Co and Brend are starting to swim alone with floaties and goggles and it makes it SOOOO much more fun.

Cute little Gillett kiddos!
We had a blast.

B O Y S
{update as of 1st of July}
  Cohen:
Weighs 38 lbs, 2 lbs why of a booster seat in TX.
Quotes: "Dear Heavenly Father, thank yo ufor this day, can I PLEASE get goggles for my birthday? In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen."
With some attitude, "Mom, this is MY castle where I can make my own rules."
"Dad today would be a good day for a swin huh? What day is it today? {Dad says Sunday} It's hot on Sunday, right Dad? I don't love to be hot, I love to swim on hot days."
"My dad is stronger cause he has more hair!" pointing to his legs hairs.
He learned to count to 100 this month.
Can read books 1 & 2 of his BOB books.
Starting to look ahead to avoid punishments... sometimes.
Did a 2 min wall sit the other day.
Is OBSESSED with soccer {YAY!} & starts his first league in SEP.
New words he uses: Usually, suppose, exhausted.
LOVES meeting new friends everywhere we go, and doesn't miss a chance to talk to a stranger at any store. Makes many people smile in one day.
Is VERY good and teasing his little bro, but is teaching him lots of good things.

Brendon:
Weighs 29 lbs, has the same size feet as Cohen.
Speaking SO MUCH, it's wonderful.
Some of my favorite words:
Dis Ew = this one
Toe = Co {says Toes a lot since we call him "Co buds" sometimes}
Saw na = sorry
Saying prayers by himself that go like this:
"Heana Fada, dank doo for day, dank doo for famee, bess food, dank doo food, yuv dee, name, Jejees Kyst, Ah mean."
Will sit and watch a whole movie.
Gets into WAY more trouble than Cohen ever did, like filling up his bathroom sink with bubbly water than dumping water all over the floor until it was an inch deep.
He LOVES trains, playing with his train set, seeing trains, hears them daily whether he's close or not. {radar ears like mama}
He has had VERY BAD growing pains the past month or so...mostly in his legs, ankles and feet. Poor boys, growing like a weed.
Can count to ten by himself.
Turns almost everything into a rocket, loves to count backwards to BLASTOFF. Usually just says 10,9, Shooooooooo!
Sassy, sassy, sassy.
Terrible twos? Hope so. This too shall pass.
Still happiest kid EVAAAA, and snuggles better than anyone.

Brendon's first
Theater movie
{end of June sometime}
We saw The Smurfs Movie with Camee and kids.
Not a huge fan, but it was a dollar and a brand new really nice theater. Well worth it. Brend thought he was SO COOL and BIG. He sat and watched the whole show, just climbed on my lap maybe the last 20 mins.
Well done Brend!

3rd of JULY
Celebrating in Southlake

This sounds silly, but I always forget just how much I love the 4th of July holiday. Yes, I am patriotic and am forever grateful for my freedom and this wonderful country, especially for all those fighting for our freedom and risking their lives for it.
I love the colors.
I love the food and BBQ's.
I love the fireworks and festivities.
This year we did something new and went to Southlake (25 mins north of FW) and celebrate on the evening of the 3rd when they do their festivities and fireworks. We had such a good time! In Town Square the streets of the shopping center are lined with food, carnival games, free activities and toys for the kids.
We will definitely do this again next year.
And one thing I love about it is you can still party again the next night on the 4th. :)
We met our friends the Thatchers and Camee and her kids.

Note: Typical Cohen....Shoes off, pops a squat off by himself, watching people. He would have stayed put a lot than we let him.

The Thatcher's went early morning and saved us all a PERFECT spot by a pretty pond, that was right under the fireworks.
  HAPPINESS.
 We're goofy but IN LOVE.

Connor Thatcher, Kaylee, Co & Brend
 Jayce Montgomery's first fireworks.
Co loved the fireworks, but NEVER likes loud noises.
Never has since he was born.

  Happy 4th of July!
Land of the free, because of the brave.

Fishin'
 At Cabela's pond.
Well worth $11 dollars for a day pass at Cabela's pond.
The boys LOVED it! They both picked up worms, lots of worms, and threw fish back in the water. Cohen caught his first fish ALL by himself, and he caught a second one with a little help.

 COMPLETE HAPPINESS!
I even caught a fishy myself.
We caught 5 total.
The heat didn't stop us from stickin' around for awhile.
After we had enough, we went to browse in Cabela's, to see the animals and shoot the quarter guns. If you are anywhere near the Cabela's in Southlake, STOP BY! It's enormous.

Cohen's birthday party
Fire Station 31
June 22, 2013
By request, Cohen got to party at the fire station up the street from our house. He told me about 8 months ago that he wanted to have a party at the fire station. Glad we could make it happen! We just had a 30 min tour of the station and the kids go to walk through the truck, and spray the big hose. They gave Cohen a kids fire hat, and everyone got stickers and coloring books.
Those who attended:
Ty & Kaylee Montgomery
Molly
Henry & Jane Gillett
Jonathon Ewell
Spencer Bowman
Connor Thatcher
Nixon Philipp
Bridger Webb {not in pic above}
Daxton Lundell
Brooke Winzenz
A little ironic that station #31 was closest to us....Brock's favorite number, also his old football number, a number I've been loving ever since I met him. When I see 31 I think of my LOVE.

No party stuff allowed at the fire station, so we came back to our house PARTY!

Another AMAZING birthday cake made be BROCK. Tradition for him to make the kids birthday cakes, and he definitely has a hidden talent!
 MY SWEET 4 YEAR OLD!
Love the typical CO pic on the left, silly face with the hand and foot included as usual.
Water games! Walk through a sprinkler while balancing a water balloon then pop the balloon. Then after the kids blew down a balloon {a flame} and popped it then they got a firehat!

Happy 4th Birthday, my cute litle fireman.
