Oct 25th - Oct 26th
The minute Brock finished his rotation in
Lexington, Kentucky, he headed for HOME.
12 hours later he was snuggling with me!
The boys woke up giddy and couldn't get to him fast enough.
First things first... TRAMP TIME with DAD!
I think this may have been their favorite thing we did together.
After breakfast and a few chores and relaxing at home, we packed a lunch and all rode our bikes to our favorite park for a picnic. This place is my favorite in our whole town. It's so quiet and calm. We call it "our park", there's never anyone there cause it's hidden. So perfect. We ate and played hide and seek, soaked in the sun, and then Brendy got his first bee sting. Not fun!
It scared him and hurt so bad, the stinger was still in his hand. So, superman dad rode on his bike carrying Brend back to the car as Co and I walked the other three bikes to a closer spot to be picked up. Hurried home, and fixed the problem.
Then it was movie time.
We had tacos for dinner (of course) and celebrated with Martinelli's. Cohen LOVES this stuff, Brend calls it "ficey" spicy.
Treat time! One of Brock's favorite treats is carmel apples. And what better time of year than now to make them?!
The boys had a blast helping for the first time, and we were surprised how much they enjoyed them too.
Fort, games, treats, telling stories, coloring...
Such a perfect way to end the night.
We even talked about what we want to ask Santa for, so Co insisted on whipping out a letter to Santa. :)
We all laughed til our bellies hurt when Brock rolled over onto our carmely plate, which got stuck to his leg hairs...
Co immediately ripped it off, leaving the plate hairy. Eew!
Sunday was so great and relaxing.. we had stake conference so we got to sleep in, Brock made omlets, we played games, jumped on the tramp one last time, Brock snuck in a power nap, then we had a wonderful dinner. Saying Goodbye wasn't nearly as hard as last time, since we know we get to see him in two weeks when we go to visit in San Antonio. :)
I still cried when he left, but I was the only weak one. ;)
After he was long gone I found this gem in my fridge...
A perfect surprise for me, and I still can't stop smiling about it hours later. He is perfect for me.
So proud of him and working his bum off through these crazy rotations. 39 hour shifts, living alone for a month in a new state, and feeling the stress of having to impress every second since he's being watched and evaluated.
I couldn't do it, that's for sure.
So glad I snatched up a hard working, dedcated, wonderful man.
Now just one more month!!
